Well, I was feeling feisty this morning, of that much we can be certain. My wife saw in our local paper that someone had written an anonymous comment to the “You Said It” section pointing out that Dick Cheney had spent taxpayer money to attend a private function here in Western Colorado. This echoed my own sentiments on the subject, and it got me thinking about shooting Dick an e-mail. So, this morning I did.
Hello!
I just had a quick question about a trip that the VP recently made to Colorado. He came to my hometown in order to attend a fund raising event for a Colorado politician named Bob Shaffer. Much to do was made about his arrival in our fairly small little haven here in Western Colorado. The local news mentioned that Mr. Cheney had flown in on Air Force 2.
And that is the basis for my question. Who paid for Dick Cheney’s private trip to attend a private function so far away from the duties of his job? He flew in on Air Force 2 which means that we, the tax payers, paid for the trip. Am I right? Or did the Federal Government send him a bill for the jet fuel? Then, while he was here, he enjoyed a fanciful escort by way of our local Police Department. Who paid for the extra officers to drive him around wile he cajoled with his private friends? We, the citizens of this city and county did.
Dick, you are a liar and a cheat and I really wish that you and your entire administration would just pull yourselves back into your shells and cease your cancerous plague on this nation. Oh, and by the way, I am a former sailor with the U.S. Navy and I have NEVER supported you or that lunatic who parades around this Great Nation under the title of Commander in Chief. The only thing he has ever commanded is a terribly profound speech impediment.
Stop costing me money and stop costing America the lives of her children.
Sincerely,
Justin M. Kolenc
Now, chances are good that he won’t ever even know that this was written. Some staffer will read it, flag it as confrontational, and send it the way of the spam basket. But I don’t care. I’m tired of talking about how terrible our government is. I’m going to start doing a lot more talking to government about how terrible they are.
That’s all for now, I suppose. I just thought I’d share my morning’s recreational activities with all of you! As always, thanks for reading.
JMK
